The launch of an important book - "The Battle for Consciousness Theory,"

- Prof. Kundan Singh is one of the Authors. He was the lead faculty member of a recently concluded #IKS #MetaRetreat.

The book is a deeply researched critique that exposes how Ken Wilber's 'Integral Theory' subtly appropriates and distorts Sri #Aurobindo's profound insights.

The book challenges the ongoing Westernization of Indian thought and offers a crucial perspective on safeguarding the integrity of Vedic wisdom.

Dr. Kundan Singh, a professor at Sofia University and senior fellow at Hindupedia, is one of the authors. The other two eminent authors are - Shri. Rajiv Malhotra @RajivMessage and Ms. Manogna Sastry @ManognaSastry

Auroville's Path Forward: Prioritizing Our Core Values

The recent resolution passed by the Residents' Assembly for an audit on the land exchange represents a pivotal moment for Auroville. This decision, backed by a significant majority, underscores the community's commitment to transparency, accountability, and the preservation of our founding principles. Here's what this moment calls for:...

Looking Ahead:
Beyond the audit, this moment calls for a strategic vision for Auroville's future. How can we grow while staying true to our ideals? What new governance models might better serve our community's needs? This could involve exploring more democratic, transparent, and perhaps even innovative governance structures like liquid democracy or enhanced participatory budgeting.

The resolution for the audit is more than a procedural step; it's a call to action for every Aurovilian to engage, reflect, and contribute to shaping Auroville's future. Let's use this as a catalyst to not only correct past oversights but to build a stronger, more vibrant community that truly embodies the ideals of The Mother.

A special word is due on Tulsidas. His Ramayana (called the Ramcharitmanas; many Ramayanas have alternative titles) is THE Ramayana for many North Indians today. But it's kinda new. He wrote it during Mughal rule, and it's quite different than Valmiki's text. Tulsidas's version of Rama's story has been translated in full into English (in 7 volumes): hup.harvard.edu/books/97806744

If you're familiar with Rams as maryada-purushottam, there's a good change you're familiar with Tulsidas's version (whether you know the poet's name or not). Tulsidas brings us up to the 16th century, but the Ramayana saga did not end there. People still retell and rewrite the Ramayana. I cannot emphasize this enough -- Rama's tale does not exist in a fixed version. It is always being retold and retooled.

Tweeters often bring up Denis Noble’s critique of The Selfish Gene, &  invite me to reply. Chapter 8 of The Genetic Book of the Dead is largely devoted to refuting Denis’s argument. Probably I’ll be asked about this among other things, on my forthcoming tour. Come and join in.
