All comes from dust and to dust it returns, the Bible tells us (Ecclesiastes 3:20). “From Delight all these beings are born, by Delight they exist and grow, to Delight they return,” the Taittiriya Upanishad retorts.

Members of the Maniktala group in Calcutta used a Cadbury chocolate tin for a bomb sent in a book package. It didn't go off as the judge didn't open the package. Still exists in Kolkata police museum.

I just uploaded “Harmonies Inspired by Sri Aurobindo by Shakti and Aurovilians.mp4” to #Vimeo:
A lot of food for thought in this article though there is quite a bit that I disagree with. But the argument for feminism seeing individuals as relational beings is something we need to focus upon.

There are a lot of valid criticisms on feminism negating the relational nature of humans and treating them as atomised individuals. But at the same time you cannot wish away power structures that make these relations tick. So if u can’t fix it, better build new relational orders
In the long run, it has. Because somewhere down the line, it was conceptualised as possible only through the absolute decimation of any shared relationship. But through the course, it has had more benefits for women. Sadly, revolutions don’t have fixed end points. So here we are.
Yes. But hopefully the lesson should not be one way. There are major problems in the way our institutions of marriage and family operate. And not acknowledging that is equally harmful. Also the revolution if at all, will follow an economic one. We aren’t there yet.
An interesting article elaborating on a new model of understanding morality and goodness. Frames ‘morality as cooperation’ and uses game theory to come up with 7 moral traits. And then keeps combining them to identify more varied values. Like molecules.

Inspiring message from Dr. Jayanti Ravi - secretary of the Auroville Foundation on 14th Oct 21. 101 days in Auroville. Two of her points - a multiversity in Auroville and retaining Auroville's international diversity are greatly meaningful & relevant. youtube.com/watch?v=L4JOcs

For many religious paths Kirtan is common when the cock crows but Silence and Meditation are integral to our path. I have not been in favour of chasing visions and experiences as Siddhis seem to belong to the old systems but Dynamic meditation and Mental gymnastics are challenges
The Marxist ideal was man can alter his situation to perfection whereas Sri Aurobindo insisted on Divine intervention. Both approaches are still hopes; no firm assurances for the foreseeable future. My only satisfaction is modern prophets like Obama and Trump have come and gone.
I have no means to evaluate govt performance on various fronts but reading critical tweets by many of its supporters is a fair indicator that the govt is on the right track. The more Modi is criticised, the more it's evident that he is successful in maintaining Constitutionalism.
One can't be at two different places at the same time. One can't perform two different roles at any given moment. One may aspire for too many things but the only things that will materialise is within the ambit of the way one is wired. Serendipity is a myth; "are foreseen above."
Philosophy needn't be ancient. A new understanding of things can dethrone age old notions. But not everyone is ready for it. So all kinds of knowledge systems flourish. Tradition is venerated out of social habit and security. But alternative worldviews can't be dismissed outright.

Sri Aurobindo was very much present when India got her freedom and the Constitution was finally promulgated. He has several political messages and write-ups to his credit during his last years but I don't think he ever criticised the Constitution the way you are trying to portray.
The Mother & Sri Aurobindo postulated reconfiguration of Cell functioning as an Evolutionary necessity for attaining Immortality. Hope, this is a step forward in the direction of unraveling that mystery. How much volition or yoga can really engineer changes in biological process.
All problems of life are essentially problems of immortality, to rephrase the famous line from The Life Divine #ARYA100Years (1914-21). Sri Aurobindo said almost the same in Karmayogin in 1909: for it is only through life that one can reach to immortality. incarnateword.in/cwsa/13/karmay
Four modern Mahavakyas: 1. It's Enlightenment which empowers us to criticise it. (Eagleton) 2. If one is able to define postmodernism then it's not postmodernism. (...) 3. Certainty is suspect. (Berlin) 4. It is only through life that one can reach to immortality. (Sri Aurobindo)
