What an inspiring story. Good to know such scholarly saints existed very recently

Checks and balances are bullshit. Under single-party control, they make no different, and under divided government, they serve only to obscure responsibility for policy outcomes and thus undermine democratic accountability. The Founders screwed up, BIG TIME.

If you are between 21-26, these two books will make for a good read. These will lead the way for you to know what every Indian must know and stay ahead of the crowd.
Both the books are by Sandeep Balakrishna  @dharmadispatch #Aavarana is a masterpiece translation. https://t.co/5MzLbGru4y

Did any state petition the HRD Ministry to build an engineering university in their own language? No.
Why is it that every state wants to have an IIT, but none of the IITs teach in any Indian language? For every IIT, we can have a parallel IIT that teaches in the local language. https://t.co/FBl1fORYsm

This is a well intentioned but wrong perspective. Learning Telugu in schools as a subject is irrelevant to the future death of the language.
The problem lies with university education where none exists in Telugu. The language will die if it doesn’t lead to a professional career. https://t.co/5peqeSgvVV

The word that Hieun Tsang used to refer to India “Indu”, as well as the other endonym for India “Bhārata”, both mean exactly the same thing: the land which is fit for Yajña - “Yajñiyo Dēśa”, as Manu Smriti put it. This is the oldest reference to the geographical borders of India. https://t.co/DVzvC156ZD

The organizing principle for nationhood of India is "Yajña". That is the meaning of the name of our countr. It is attested in our sacred literature. See this thread. Language is sacred, but it is just one part of Yajña. Indu/ Bhārata will remain united.

The human body is more than 60% water. The human brain and heart are 75% water. Water is the carrier of our life. Our words and thoughts can be considered as waves on a river, that nourishes us and moves through us.
In this thread, I want to discuss the seven rivers of my life. https://t.co/kkcItS0yi9

This relates to an inspired art lost with the ancients, revived by Whitman n theorized later by Sri Aurobindo followed by his own practice.

Eliot is a great critic, one of the best prose writers of the 20th century, but his poetry is not "discovered" like Yeats's or Whitman's or Sri Aurobindo's or Tagore's. His poetry is "made up" of wide reading n rarely catches the Infinite thru his words. Not a poet of d future!

An apposite rumination by @kalisbrood in three parts https://t.co/GOU1TlciVG

The experience of the Aurobindo Āśrama is really important learning principle for all of us, on what to do and what not to do. Having said that, I respect the Aurobindo Āśrama for all it achieved. You have my deepest respects. But we need to better and show the way to the world.

You are right that democracy is not easy to establish at local level. But I am convinced that if anybody can do it, it is us Indians. From my perspective, democracy is a form of Yajña. What better place to recognize it as such, than in temples or other spiritual organizations?

Off topic, but this is the very problem which I'm highlighting consistently. Each major language of India is endangered due to colonial legacy. Abolishing the Central govt by granting sovereignty to the States is the only solution. To have the cake and eat it too is not possible.

Proverbs like 900 सौ चूहे खाकर बिल्ली हज को चली or वृद्धा नारी पतिव्रता are pejorative comments but Today is the first day of the rest of your life since you can't bury the past. From an ethical as well as Evolutionary perspective, permitting a second innings is a prudent option.
